-
- Harvey:
-
- I was disappointed to read in the latest DA newsletter that MacApp 2.0 is not
- expected to have any enhancements relative to Appletalk and Appleshare. I also
- get the idea that the current Appletalk unit is essentially unuseable at this
- point because it does not take into account any of the higher level services
- now available.
-
- It seems to me that it is <essential> that MacApp provide the ability to write
- applications which can be relatively easily extended to a multiuser
- environment. With the current business penetration of the Mac, the first thing
- many people ask of a business application is "can it be shared?". Apple has
- done a good job providing the hardware and software services allowing Macs to
- be networked----now the market, I think, wants to see the benefits and is ready
- to climb on board if the apps are there that can effectively tie people
- together.
-
- The product I am working on requires this extensibility, and I am hoping that
- you will support a higher priority in this area.
-
- I am copying MacApp$, and will be interested to see whether there's any
- agreement out there on this topic.
-
- Thanks,
- Mark Gilford
